House Rules

These House Rules apply to all guests staying at Hostel Cosmos Amsterdam and form part of our Terms & Conditions. They are designed to ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable stay for everyone.

ACCOMMODATION ELIGIBILITY

  • This property is most suitable for guests aged 18 and above.
  • Children are not allowed in shared dormitories.
  • This hostel does not accept bookings for more than 6 persons, even if reservations are made separately.
  • Guests are required to present a valid photo ID and a credit card upon check-in.


CHECK-IN & ARRIVAL

  • Guests are kindly requested to inform Hostel Cosmos Amsterdam of their expected arrival time in advance. This can be done via the Special Requests box when booking or by contacting us directly using the details in the confirmation email.
  • All Special Requests are subject to availability and may involve additional charges.


QUIET HOURS

  • Quiet hours are strictly enforced between 22:00 and 07:00.
  • Please keep noise to a minimum in dormitories, hallways, bathrooms, and common areas during these hours.


VISITORS & ACCESS CONTROL

  • Only registered guests are permitted inside the Hostel.
  • Visitors and non-guests are not allowed anywhere on the property.
  • Do not share access codes, key cards, or building access with anyone.


SMOKING & ALCOHOL

  • Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited anywhere inside the building.
  • Alcohol consumption is not permitted anywhere within the Hostel.
  • Violations will result in a €200 fee, charged to the registered payment card, and may lead to immediate removal from the property without refund.


ILLEGAL DRUGS

  • Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited.


DORMITORY ETIQUETTE

  • Use only your assigned bed.
  • Respect the privacy and personal space of other guests.
  • Use headphones when listening to music or watching videos.
  • Avoid phone calls inside dormitories.
  • Keep personal belongings organized.
  • Turn off reading lights when not in use.


LOCKERS & VALUABLES

  • Lockers are available for guest use.
  • Guests must provide their own padlock.
  • Please secure valuables at all times.
  • The Hostel is not responsible for lost, stolen, or unattended items.


TOWELS & BEDDING

  • Towels are not provided or sold on site. Guests are kindly asked to bring their own towels.
  • Cots and extra beds are not available at this property.


SHARED KITCHEN

  • Please clean up after yourself.
  • Wash and return dishes after use.
  • Dispose of waste properly.
  • Respect other guests using the kitchen.
  • Food left behind after departure may be discarded.


BATHROOMS & SHOWERS

  • Please leave bathrooms and showers clean for the next guest.
  • Remove personal belongings when finished.


CLEANLINESS & DAMAGES

  • Help us keep the Hostel clean and comfortable for everyone.
  • Excessive mess, intentional damage, or misuse of facilities may result in additional charges.
  • Any costs related to damages, smoking, alcohol consumption, or other rule violations will be charged directly to the payment card on file.
  • A cleaning and recovery fee of €200 may be charged for violations.


SAFETY

  • Do not block emergency exits.
  • Do not tamper with smoke detectors, fire alarms, or safety equipment.
  • Follow staff instructions during emergencies.


PARTY GROUPS

  • Hostel Cosmos welcomes respectful travellers.
  • Disruptive party groups, including stag parties, hen parties, and pub crawl groups, may be refused accommodation or asked to leave.


PETS

  • Pets are not allowed.
  • Assistance animals required by law are exempt.


FAILURE TO COMPLY

Guests who fail to comply with these House Rules may receive warnings, incur charges for damages or cleaning, or be removed from the Hostel without refund.
