Transport In Amsterdam
Amsterdam is one of the major destinations in Europe for both business travelers, as well as tourists from all across the globe. Metro Tube
Metro tube in the city is quite a fast mode of transportation, but useful only for traveling outside the city or to Amsterdam Arena.

Bicycling is the way of life for the people of Amsterdam and also the best way to go around the city. The city comprises of various dedicated bike paths all over the city, as well as over some hills. There are a large number of companies offering bicycles on rent to tourists for a minimal charge of €8 per day.
Taxi
All important tourist hubs in the city such as Dam Square (De Dam), Central Station, and Leidseplein comprise of Taxi Stands to get a taxi to visit different places in the city. However, hailing taxis on weekend becomes quite difficult and costs a lot more than other modes of transportation.
Canal Boats
Canals boats run at intervals of 40 minutes and halt at 14 different stops along three routes in the city. These routes cover all important tourist attractions and historical commentary on them is also provided on the tour.
Rent a Car
Car Rental services are quite easily available at the Schiphol Airport, as well as at City Centre. However, driving in the city of Amsterdam is not at all recommended and must be avoided as much as possible.
