We are the crew of Amsterdam Hostel Cosmos and we are here to make sure that you have the time of your life in Amsterdam. Let's start by telling you why this youth hostel exists! After noticing that the couple of youth hostels in Amsterdam were booked most of the time and the hotels were too expensive for backpackers. What would be better in this case than to open a brand new youth hostel in the sparkling centre of Amsterdam.

Amsterdam Hostel Cosmos opened in August 1999. Amsterdam Hostel Cosmos is a beautiful, completely renovated 17th century building that used to be a hotel. The one thing we knew for sure was that it had to be cheap, clean and nearby the things that make Amsterdam so typical. And with this we of course mean the coffee shops, The Red Light District and many more places. We believe in the fact that no matter how low the prices are, the rooms, toilets and showers have to be clean at all times. On top of this we make sure that the employees who work here are friendly and helpful to everybody who comes here.

It is not only a nice and clean place to stay but also a save one because of the lockers and our nightwatch. Cosmos is the perfect place to meet new, young and exiting people. We are small and personal, so you'll feel very comfortable at Amsterdam Hostel Cosmos. We have no lock out or curfew, so you can walk in and out whenever you want. Amsterdam Hostel Cosmos has been on the top 10 list of best hostels worldwide for three times now. The criteria were; character, security, location and fun.
